President Rodrigo Duterte might be the typical macho father but he admits that it is his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, is the boss in his household, saying she was the ‘alpha’ figure.
“She’s really…when I separated from my first wife, she was the alpha,” quoting what he said in an article by Politiko Mindanao.
The president was married with his first wife Elizabeth Zimmerman, for 27 years and they separated in 1998.
Duterte also recalled how his eldest Sara would go to him and collect money for his regular child support, not only for her but also for Pulong and Baste.
“‘Pa, ‘yung pera namin, ‘yung tuition namin, baon namin, lahat.
He said that Sara would tell him to find ways, borrow money if he needs to, if he has not collected yet his salary. Thus, Duterte said he had no choice but to produce money for his children – before Sara came back to get it.
The president said that because of this, he did not think twice on making Sara his successor in Davao City.
“When she was running for vice mayor, I was putting her on deck to be mayor. Sinabi ko talaga ‘yan and I remember.
